Mark Kelly is a POS

I want to make it clear I am NOT attacking this man’s military service or actions. I would NEVER attack anyone who serves this great nation. Having said that, he is running around actively telling members of our military to ignore their oath and their orders if they “feel” they’re illegal. The problem is this is an ideological way of thinking, and the military has remained a formidable force because they work hard to push ideologues out of ranks or at least to ensure their ideology doesn’t interfere with their duties.

Mark Kelly, who is only in Congress because of his military background and the tragedy that struck his wife, whose seat he got if for nothing else sympathy. I’m not trying to lessen what happened by any means. But let’s face it, he is in Congress by reputation only. He’s not a man of substance. How do I know? He’s saying from a position of what some see as leadership by reminding people he’s a senator, which to those easily influenced can appear that he is sowing sedition.

For further reference on this topic I am going to include the Oath of Enlistment:

I, (state name of enlistee), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. (So help me God).”

Now for the definition of sedition: conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch. Again, if Mark Kelly, as a private citizen, even drawing his pension, would say the things he did, it wouldn’t be an issue, at least not as far as I’m concerned. The problem is when he says “I am Senator Mark Kelly,” this invokes in some, not most, a position of authority, especially when the media and others try to tell us they are our “leaders” when they are our elected officials, not leaders; they are not in some hierarchy of American life; they are just like you and me; they just work for the people.

Many people say often “they take an oath to the constitution not the President or a man” while in principle the oath is for the constitution but then the President and his commanders. It’s clear. So when you have a political opponent of the President saying you don’t have to obey unlawful orders of the President and they’re doing it from a place of political reasoning it’s wrong. Politics have no place in our military.

I am not saying they should follow blindly. The Military Code gives examples of what’s considered unlawful based on constitutional law, that is the supreme law of the land. If the President or commanders give an unlawful command, they can and should do everything not to follow it based on constitutional law, not political ideology. Simply sowing discourse because you don’t like what the President is doing is not the way to go about it. I might add when Pete Hegseth said similar things it was wrong because it weakens the trust of the chain of command of the people trying to ensure the safety of Americans in my eyes. Trying to rip and tear down the commanders of the military for political points is just beneath everyone and anyone who does it. While I understand they need to be told how to go about it you can rest assured they are taught what they should do. The way Mark Kelly, Pete Hegseth and others have phrased it is wrong and they all should face military justice.

While I understand Mark Kelly is a private citizen again, his position as a senator brings a position and representation of authority, and it was wrong for him and other members of Congress to use that position to try and overthrow the military command and code of conduct. While they may have thought their actions were just, their delivery was wrong and could cause all sorts of problems in our military. We don’t want or need activist members of our armed forces, or we’ll all suffer for it.
