Such Sh*tty People

Now, normally I would do a podcast about this, but with everything going on, I’ve been too busy. I can’t wait to get back to the show. I noticed something today while doing my usual scroll through X. There are a lot of hateful, vile people. In the wake of Joe Biden’s recent news, some people took to X to celebrate.

Now I know this shouldn’t shock me, but many of them were conservative or Trump voters. Many of them said they were glad he was sick and hoped he died a miserable death. Trump himself sent condolences and said he would stop referring to him as “sleepy Joe,” but others were hell-bent on wishing Biden hell.

I know politics gets dirty, and usually the people getting nasty are liberals. More recently, it’s been about even, and now it’s just insane what I’m seeing. Being an anarchist, I am able to see the hypocrisy of both parties, and the American political landscape is nasty. This, though, went beyond anything I’ve ever seen.

Americans have always held themselves with some decency. We used to have a collective belief and understanding that life and death were sort of off-limits. Like Biggie said, “I would never wish death on nobody because there ain’t no coming back from that,” which is how we all used to act. True, you had your lone people here and there, but not as widespread as I saw on X. It really was disheartening.

I have said it more than once that Joe Biden served and deserved to enjoy his remaining days in retirement, and whoever pulled him from that well-earned retirement should face charges because now he’s become a laughingstock, and I hate to see that. No matter what side, those that serve deserve the respect. I’m old school that way, I guess. Biden’s news is heartbreaking for those that love him, cherish him, and it’s because of this I will never rejoice in his pain or potential death from cancer. I’ve been on the other end with multiple family members dying from cancer; it’s not a pretty thing.

People rejoicing because of the J6 response, who got swept in it or whatever else the reason was, are just low people. Americans are better than that. We all know death and pain, and that’s always been the one thing we had in common and understood was off-limits. Today was heartbreaking for several reasons, but most importantly because our political divide has gotten so bad now that we are cheering for someone’s death because they aren’t part of one party…that’s pathetic.
