JoJo Siwa

I have been open about how I’m not a fan of this young woman. It’s nothing personal; I just find the entire “hi guys, let’s go dance our asses off” energy she tends to have as annoying, and for lack of a better term, it turns me off from anything she may have. I am a BIG fan of music and will give anyone the chance, so when she announced she was coming out with a new song, I waited to see what it was. Turned out it wasn’t her song but a remake of a song that she denied was a remake for weeks after its release.

Now I don’t know much about this kid and really only started following her after the first single “Karma” came out. It’s part of my job and the part I like the most, but with her claiming this song as hers when it wasn’t, was a flashback to Vanilla Ice trying to convince the world he didn’t steal the beat for “Ice, Ice Baby” from Queen and David Bowie (spoilers: he did). Having said that, I was a little familiar with her in terms of her making news when she came out. That’s what brings me to my point.

Jojo came out when she was young. I believe she was 17 or around there. She came out as a lesbian. Now apparently it was fine around 2020 when she came out, but now if you come out as a lesbian, you must stay a lesbian apparently. Jojo has begun dating a man. In fact, she broke it off with her partner at the time during filming of Celebrity Big Brother UK or some show like that where she met her current boyfriend. Now the gay hate that’s been aimed at JoJo has her cancelling appearances and even postponing her tour she just started. Jojo has even spoken about it, saying when she came out, she wanted to come out as pansexual, which apparently means fluid and doesn’t care what gender the partner is, but was pressured into coming out as a lesbian. I talked about this briefly on the latest Blah with Nick B.

I guess I’m a little old school and not really understanding the whole “fluid” sexuality because you’re either like males or females, not sure what else there is, but I know they claim there are thousands now. I also don’t care who or what she wants to sleep with as long as she’s happy and she genuinely looks and sounds happy. Why do people have to be so hateful and attack someone who has been VERY open about their love life most of her career, and she genuinely looks happy? Who says we’re not allowed to grow and change who we are or what we believe and think? That’s the point to life: to learn and grow.

I don’t know what the point of this blog is, but if I could simplify it, it would be to let people live, especially those that are public figures, when they genuinely seem happy. What do you care?
