My Thoughts on SNAP

So I go over pretty briefly what I think is going on with the SNAP program, but I wanted to detail it a little more and figured here was the best place. First, the video:

Now, what I want to make clear is even though it may sound like I’m heartless, I believe if you are able-bodied, you should be working and taking care of yourself. If you are on government assistance, I don’t believe you should be buying luxury bags and going on vacations, as people who struggle that aren’t on assistance don’t get to do that. If that makes sense. Basically, if you’re on assistance, you should live like you’re getting by.

While I am at it, I am sorry, but it’s not my responsibility to take care of anyone other than those who are unable to work because of a disability or handicap, and I believe everyone else should get out there and bust their ass to get what they need and want.

I know this isn’t a popular opinion, and I know people will argue that it’s harder today than it was for previous generations. And while I agree that might be true, I also believe you can still get everything you need and want if you work for it. So stop looking to socialize, stop spending on stupid things, stop going on trips until you get what you need. Then you can get what you want.

I am also pisser that there are people flashing bags that cost thousands of dollars, bragging that they stole meat and fish because they don’t have any more money on their EBT. Before you say that’s only a minor amount of people, I don’t think it is. The worst part is because some people feel that those that are abusing the system are living better or getting away with abusing the system, we get a crazy man in charge who may actually take away support from those that need it.

Watch the video. I may expand on it more again another day.
