Death Sucks

I know it’s inevitable and we will all face it one day, but death really sucks. This last week, two big people in a generation of people passed away. The first was Brad Arnold, the lead singer of 3 Doors Down, who died at the age of 47, and then it was James Van Der Beek, who died at age 48. Both of them passed due to cancer, not the same, but still, cancer is a son of a bitch that’s taken too many people.

I’m not trying to go all conspiratorial here, but it just seems like there are more and more people dying from cancer and really aggressive ones. What’s going on in the world with so many people getting cancer and not being able to fight it for long? It’s strange, right? I realize cancer is deadly and can pop up whenever, but two men in their 40s are gone from cancer, and they both seemed to live normal, healthy lives. I know too many people in my life that are fighting or have been through cancer, and it sucks.

I was able to sit in on two different interviews, one with James and the other with Brad. While I didn’t interview them myself, I got to see them and get a good idea of the type of person they were. Both of them were men of faith, so I know they’re in paradise. It just sucks. James had six kids; it’s just heartbreaking because I’ve been the kid who no longer has the parent. I know what they’re feeling. Death sucks.

I’m so sick of death…I’m not afraid of it, but I’m tired of it.
